The Kelderman 2-Stage Rear Air Suspension System for the GM G-Series Cutaway Chassis has been used in numerous markets. This chassis is extremely popular in the shuttle bus & RV markets which have been very impressed at the 2-Stage Rear and it's effectiveness at improving the ride quality of the vehicle. This chassis was designed from the factory primarily for heavy-duty, commercial applications leaving it with sufficient weight ratings and an undesirable leaf spring suspension ride. Air suspension has been used in commercial applications for many years and has been very effective at improving the road manners of all kinds of vehicles. Kelderman's unique 2-Stage Air Suspension framework accomplishes an improved ride quality by 'floating' the existing leaf spring suspension. This is a design that we use in vehicles ranging from 3/4 ton pickup trucks all the way up to larger, Class 6 & 7 commercial trucks with great results. The leaf spring shackle hanger/mount is removed from the frame and the air suspension system provides an additional 3-4" of suspension travel for the vehicle. This allows you to ride on the air suspension so the bumps in the road are absorbed by the air suspension before being transferred onto the leaf springs. With the leaf springs being retained, you still have the same towing/payload capacities as before...just an improved ride quality. Kits are available in our 'manual fill' air control system or with an electronic self-leveling system. This optional self-leveling air control system allows you to focus on driving and other tasks rather than spending time on gauges, switches, or other components to ensure proper operation.
